And the neighbors have been doing it for the full 40 years since the original gay riot. But for some reason this year, the NYPD has hung flyers up and down the block, ‘recommending’ we all not do this.

Okay, so it is kinda dangerous – I’ve seen beer bottles and such fall on the crowd, and I guess some drunk queen could slip and tumble off. But it’s more like the ‘Running Of The Bulls’ in Pamplona – stupid, dangerous, and a great tradition!

Either way, the NYPD should really proof read these things before putting them out. Really.

2. WEEKENDS should have an apostrophe

3. The second paragraph is a horribly mangled run on sentence.

4. Should say, ” IN THE PAST A LARGE NUMBER…”

5. The whole manages to avoid the words Gay, Lesbian, or LGBT.

Finally, isn’t this really a FDNY matter?

Yeah, the process — spraying your tag, then lighting it on fire making the wet paint burn — is kinda dangerous and even was blamed for a fire that partially scorched a school in L.A. But vandalism is inherently hazardous, and that’s just part of what makes it so fucking hot!

With the average price of a pack of cigarettes in NYC soaring above $10, many nicotine addicts previously forced into the cold by Mayor Bloomie’s bar smoking ban are now being forced to make an even tougher choice. Thanks to recent tax raises on every pack of smokes, the NYC price –- an average of 55 cents per cancer stick — is the highest in the nation and more than twice the national average.

“They know they can cash in on smokers like me,” says one puffer. “The most frustrating thing is it’s going to cost me around 80 bucks a week now.” More than 20,000 New Yorkers are expected to quit after the price increase.
