Scorching summer heat often means plenty of boring trips to NYC tourist traps with visiting family, but a trip to the refurbished Statue of Liberty looks like one worth taking. The crown of Lady Liberty has been closed since the 9/11 terror attacks, but this July 4 it will be reopened with lucky lottery winners getting a chance to climb the 200 steps that wind up inside the famous bitch’s head. There they will have a glorious view: “I hate to bust your bubble, the statue isn’t facing Manhattan,” says Park Ranger Kenya Finley. “It’s facing France, but you see Brooklyn first.” Check out a video tour of the crown here:
