OK so nobody was surprised to find out recently that mascara-wearing emo-goth American Idol runner-up Adam Lambert is LIKE TOTALLY GAY. But what took him so long to come out? “I didn’t want the Clay Aiken thing and the celebrity-magazine bullshit,” Lambert explains in the new issue of Rolling Stone, invoking the name of the former Idol who waited five years to out himself. “I’m proud of my sexuality. I embrace it . . . but I’m trying to be a singer, not a civil-rights leader.” Yeah, no shit — Adam ain’t no Harvey Milk. But now that he’s out he certainly shouldn’t shun the spotlight.
