Usually “line” and “high” are what come after throwing down an 8-ball of blow on the table, but not when you’re talking about NYC’s newest and coolest park. Open to the public just last week, the High Line Park is a long, narrow strip of elevated public space on Manhattan’s West side built three stories above the ground on top of long-abandoned railroad tracks. Spanning from the Meatpacking District on the South side all the way up to 20th St. (it will eventually extend beyond 30th St.), a stroll down the High Line unfolds like a ride on a stylish steel-and-concrete cloud that floats 30 feet above the city, offers amazing views and is full of wild gardens, fountains, benches and even an amphitheatre.
